Just a note of warning. While using the Lead moulds I have I decided I could speed up the process by simply putting the small wood boards on each side of a mould and use cheap plastic spring clamps to hold them together. Then I could just pull them off, open the mould and presto, my figures are done. I went to pour the Lead into the still cold mould and the Lead cooled to fast blocking up the entry hole. Not being to smart I continued to pour to much and some of the Lead overflowed the mould onto the clamps. Results are plastic clamps are no match for hot Lead. In a few other instances the continuous heat made the clamps warp and althoug no Lead touched them, they also became useless. Although plastic clamps are cheap they should be avoided. Probably most casters of Lead know that and after 50 to 60 years of doing it I too should have known better.
