I am not sure if this in the right thread, but should I buy this? I am only 13, so I was wondering if it would be to hard.

Hi, We recommend adult supervision for anyone under 14. That is our legal responsibility. Hobby Casting is not difficult, but like any new hobby, does take a little while to get perfect. We do provide tutorials on casting that cover all the basics and some advanced areas so you will get better results FAST. Look at our website newsletters for those links (the middle bit). You must be aware that you are dealing with hot metal so do take sensible precautions and you should be fine. It is great fun and you get a wonderful sense of accomplishment when you cast a good figure. Whether you make a single figure or an army it will be much more fun when using them to know you made them from scratch rather than just bought them ready made. We suggest taking a smaller mold to begin, something that does not require much assembly and you can get the hang of it before trying more involved molds.

I really agree you should have an adult help out. I started pouring hot lead when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Melted it over my Mom's stove. Burned myself many times. Got hot lead on the burners of the stove. Was rewarded with an educational beating. Avoid this if possible.

I started casting when I was 10 or 11 years old with some parential supervision. Now my kids are doing the same and they're 9 and 12, needless to say, the 9 year old has hands on supervision and the 12 year old is very capable so I only need to observe.
