Hi all,
Dutkins sells some 54mm Zulu War moulds but they don't produce the best figures. I think a few good (multipose?) zulu and 24th foot moulds would really add to the range of PA moulds. The sculpting on the more recent figures is outstanding. What do you think?

Any further information to flesh out the idea? Any references that might influence the idea?

That's a tough one. Do you mean what I think would be the way to go from a collectors point of view? Well, I have a napoleonic 3 piece mould from you, with the loose head, arms, and accesoires. Something like that (allowing for multiposing) would be awesome for both the zulus and 24th foot. I'd go for armybuilders first, to flesh out the more expensive ready made figures in the market. William Britain produces some new and highly popular gloss and matte painted zulus. I know that there are collectors who like to army build. For the 24th my choice would be the poses for a firing line or infantry square (standing firing, kneeling firing and pick a suitable third) For the zulus I'd go for a running, standing and active fighting pose. Two different heads as basics (bareheaded and with black ring) to indicate married and unmarried regiments. A loose shield for the left arm (perhaps two left arms, bent and stretched). Right arms with assegai (spear), knobkerrie (club), and maybe a rifle. Preferably loose arms and weapons for variation possibilities. Their outfit would consist of the most common battledress, just a loincloth with some feathers around the legs and maybe around the arms. Here's pics from the Britains sets. They are very accurate. www.firstgearonline.com/dealers/storeImages/20010_LoRes.jpg(unmarried zulus) www.firstgearonline.com/dealers/storeImages/20011_LoRes.jpg(unmarried with knobkerrie) www.firstgearonline.com/dealers/storeImages/20008_LoRes.jpg(married with knobkerrie) Also take a look at their gloss range. www.wbritain.com/products.cfm?catID=3850Conte collectibles will be doing a zulu range as well later this year (or early 2009) www.conteco.com/Hornsofthebuffalo.htmIs this of any help?

you already have the british in the toy soldier range. It would be great if the zulus matched them
