I've posted several times and in several places where I normally acquire lead for my soldier molds. In the past I've used bullets from several shooting ranges around here, busted open old car batteries, old lead fishing weights and lead from auto places where they use lead weights for balancing tires. However, today I found a new source and lots and lots of it. Not familiar with other countries but in the USA some time ago telephone cables were covered with lead sheaths for direct burial in the ground. This is becoming obsolete so when a telephone line is broken, torn up, replaced, the phone companies discard the old lead sheathed cables. Not sure how homest this is but a friend of mine works for one of the phone companies and is beginning to slip me lead. Today I just melted down about 20 pounds of the stuff and more coming. At this rate I'll have to have PA make life size moulds.
