I am toying with the idea of making my own original figures and having Prince August make moulds for me. Having read the information that the company puts out on its website I know that many people make original figures by modifying PA figures, cutting or filing bits off and building new ones up. While this could be done on a metal figure this seems like a lot of work and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried pressing Milliput or some other modeling material into PA moulds to make figures? This stuff is a lot easier to work with, when wet but I worry about trying it. First off will it work and second will the material damage the moulds? I love my 54mm Napoleonic 80-1 marching grenadier but his mould is showing the effects of my early incompetence in casting and I was thinking he would form a wonderful template for conversions. Any ideas or comments?

If anyone has actually gone through the process of having a custom mold created I would be very interested in seeing the finished product (the figure that is).
Anyone have any pictures posted of a custom job?
Does PA offer a discount if you want several identical molds produced from the same master? The reason I ask is because that way it may be cheaper for several individuals to create a prototype figure(s) and have custom molds made

He will be back at start of July from Holidays. I say we can work something out. It might depend on the kind of master figure and if any problems crop up that slows down the mould creation problem.

That's interesting to know: I used to cast Prince August semi-flats about 20 years ago. The only 54mm figures at the time were the Prussian Garde du Corps. (I once made a nice standard bearer for von Blumenthal, did ok with the casting and painting but then ruined the flag, grr).
Good to be back in the world of casting again and I'm thinking along the lines of my own sculpts with PA doing the needful with the moulds. I'd be grateful if people would post any successes they've had to date.
