I just spent the last hour laboriously carving and filing off the sling that supports the banner on the Prussian Cuirassier in your Seven Years War range (I am trying to build a regiment and need rank and file). While contemplating the next five that I will have to do it occurred to me “why on Earth would anyone make a figure with such limited uses?” Don’t get me wrong, it is a lovely figure and I would certainly want one for my army but that is just it, I would only want one but I NEED many regular troopers and could have converted the standard bearer out of a trooper with far less work than the other way around.
Here is a suggestion for you. When contemplating the topic of a new mould ask yourself “how many copies will the average hobbyist want to pour?” If the answer is “only one or two” you might want to give the project a pass. In America we have a saying “too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.” The average hobbyist needs rank and file far more than they need the odd ball figure no matter how well done it is. Give us rank and file in simple poses and we will convert the odd ones for ourselves.
Thank you! John

Lensman, that's why I like the older 25mm Napoleonic molds: you get an officer and/or drummer in combination with a much more needed infantry man, so you have the lesser needed figures at a relative low extra price. Same for the Nap. cavalry figures in 25mm. Otherwise, I don't think I would have bought all of the officers, for instance, and would indeed have modified.

I agree with this. I can not see the need to buy a mold of Napoleon or Lief Erickson as there was only one of them and that is all I would be interested in having. A better marketing approach would be to buy these compatible (with figures cast from the molds) figures from Prince August. Give me instead a mold of a viking with his shield up and maybe an option to cast him with a sword or axe and I'll readily buy the mold as I will cast dozens of them to make a shieldwall. I don't know why I would cast dozens of figures of a guy starring out to see.
