Hi all
I've been vaguely obsessing, these past few months with the idea of casting Fantasy Armies figures in something other than metal.
Has anyone tried this? I *think* something like the smooth-on casting resins or plastics might work, but I have no experience of this. Curious to see if anyone else has tried.
I am rather fond of the idea of having Prince August figures in similar plastic to the Dungeons and Dragons pre-painted figures and Reaper Bones.
Any tips, pointers, suggestions?
Gavin

Gavin Over the years I have had many people ask about alternative materials. I have never had anyone come back with any results however. The moulds are designed for gravity casting and so lighter material may not cast as well, unless they have some other property that corrects for this issue. The temp must not go above 400 C. I have been asked about all sorts of strange and wonderful materials, including gold, aluminum, chocolate and even lead from a nuclear facility. I generally knock the ideas on the head for various reasons. Just take care when experimenting.
