What is the subject of the next 54mm Napoleonic molds (80-26)? Has it been decided yet?
And when (approximately) should they be available for purchase?

We have not decided on the next 80- yet to my knowledge. There is a rumor of making some cast key figures for the series, like Wellington and Napoleon. These will not be moulds. I have not received any confirmation yet but I will give out any info as soon as I get it.,

Has anyone here purchased any of the Napoleonic molds from Minaturemolds in the U.S.?
Specifically I was curious as to whether their British Highlanders and French Grenadiers are compatible with the Prince August figures?

I'd like you to flesh out the British and French, including cavalry of both nations (with a better horse), British artillery, Highland infantry, and standard bearers for the line units, not just the French Guard. I'd like to see British line infantry at march-attack instead of just levelled bayonets. How about mounted officers as well? From a wargamer's perspective, each infantry troop type needs the following:
Line infantry in matching poses (best is march-attack, second best is probably advancing with the bayonet) Dismounted officer Standard bearer Perhaps a drummer Mounted officer Mounted General officer
By making your molds more useful for wargamers (who are beginning to get back into 54mm), I think you'd sell a lot more molds. If I were you, I'd look at the poses done by Wargames Foundry in their Napoleonic rang and try to do something similar with your molds.
Also, because your figure bases are so unique (the cobblestone texture), I've always hesitated to begin collecting when the range was incomplete, because any portion of it I did purchase would not match anything else. If I knew you were going to finish the troop types for a campaign (the Peninusla campaign or Waterloo, for instance), I'd begin collecting the molds in a heartbeat.
Hope you find this useful.

Hi guys, Just finished pinting my first 54mm figure in about 20 years! Isn't that amazing. Normally cast and paint 25mm figures but on a recent trip to the PA shop in Cork, I acquired a mould of one of the 500 series (matching up another I already had from way back when...). The figure os finished and painted and I now have my first mould of the 80-series. I enjoyed the complete change of size.

I voted for something completely different. It appears everyone wants moulds mostly for people, some for horses, less for cannons. However, what about a little more modern items like Tanks, more types of cannons, amphibian troop carriers, jeeps, mortars, flags on a pole. I know some of these would take a lot of lead but a no modern army is complete with out them. Someday maybe even planes for an airport.

Making tanks in 54mm scale is just too large, they would be too expensive to cast, and would have to be hollow anyway to prevent shrinkage. Such large molds are unlikely as they would be very difficult to make as simple molds for regular people to produce at home. Now if you wanted small tanks, like 15mm scale then that might be different but then that would mean a whole new range in that scale.

I am a new member. I've done a lot of painting. Not much casting as of yet. I'll be ordering from Dunken. I would like to see figures firing their rifles or carbines. Set 80-2 has one guy kneeling/firing and that seems to be it. I think 80-5 has one standing firing. Were the frech the only ones firing their weapons? If so how come they lost? After all the Irish were on their side , Yeah?

After all the Irish were on their side , Yeah? 80-20 has a figure firing too, but I take your point. There is a lot of marching figures, but not too many actually firing their weapons. I am encouraging my boss to release more active military 80- figures, instead of the 'at-ease' types. Kneeling and standing are some of the poses, along with marching, that would be the best choices.

When we have completed the Roman release we can re-evaluate the other scales and organise additional releases. We still have to fix the Knight moulds, and release the next lot of them as well, plus fix the Egyptian chess moulds. These are also due to be finished in 2007.
