I have been casting at home for many years with homemade molds and Prince August molds. I have used mold from a few other companies, but I prefer PA to other professionally made molds.
Like everybody in this hobby, I have run into problems with incomplete casts, and have never really found a satisfactory answer. Recently, a guy on another forum suggested cutting tabs into the mold near the offending area and then a triangular channel from that area to the tab. The logic being that if the metal has to pass through the incomplete area to fill the tab, it is more likely to fill the incomplete area too.
As with most venting techniques, I have had about 50% success with this. Curious if others have tried the same, and with what result.
