I started out casting fantasy molds when I was 12 or 13 on my mums cooker. It was a wierd hobby for a girl so I never really talked about it much. I carried on untill I got married and then I seemed to have no time any more. I'm 41 now and FINALLY my son is 9 and we started a couple of weekends ago doing some casting together with my old molds. Its fantastic finally to have someone as into it as I used to be (my husband still thinks its wierd). There is so much advice and help out there now! We have got perfect castings from molds that I never got to turn out before. Horses with all four legs and Orcs with spears and swords. I never knew about warming the molds and cutting vents. What a difference! I have an old set of Prince August orc catapult molds I am going to have a go with this weekend. Thanks for all the tutorials on the site - now I just need a better light for painting (dont have 12 year old eyes any more) and more TIME!

What a lovely post. Thank you for taking the time. I do put a lot of effort into tutorials and its nice that people find them useful and carry on the tradition. We are working on new non military series of moulds that should appeal to girls and boys. We will have more information shortly.

I have 3 neices and a nephew. Give us a little clue.

My sisters weren't interested in my fantasy moulds at all lol.
